Swimming Bath Accident
A swimming bath accident may be a reason to make an injury compensation claim. The accident must not have been your own fault.
Swimming bath accidents can happen for a number of reasons and many will be own fault accidents and not claimable. However, if the accident is due to negligence of the staff then a claim could be possible.
There are many rules that have been put in place by the pools management to help prevent swimming bath accidents and to help people from being injured in a swimming pool. There are usually signs posted on the walls surrounding the pool to advise on the safety issues. These rules are there for good reason and should not be ignored.
If there are broken tiles in the pool area or the hand rails around the steps of the pool are loose and cause an injury a claim could be possible.
If there is a wet floor in an area which should be dry, for example, in reception where the floor has been cleaned by staff and there are no warning signs in place a claim could be made.
Water and wet floors are to be expected in the changing rooms and if a slipping accident happens due to these circumstances, it is not a claim we would take on.
Any swimming bath accidents should be reported to the staff as soon as possible and recorded in the accident book.
