Bus passenger claim for driver negligence
A bus passenger accident claim for compensation can be made by passengers who have been injured by bus driver negligence.
The bus accident may be due to the driver braking too hard causing passengers to be thrown in the aisles causing injuries.
A successful bus passenger claim was made by Mr stone, 51, from Kettering in 2006 who suffered injuries due to excessive braking. This caused the passenger to be thrown in the bus aisle. The accident caused Mr Stone to be injured on a bolt which was sticking out from the bus handrail. This caused an injury to his hip and knocked him unconcious. The injured passenger ended up slumped under the windscreen of the bus. In addition to the hip injury, Mr Stone also suffered back and whiplash injuries, which have affected his work.
Mr Stone made a claim against Stagecoach for the accident, which took some time to win, however he was awarded £5,500 in compensation.
Mr Stone said “After four and a half years I have finally got a settlement. I feel so angry. I know there is a compensation culture but people have still got the right to claim for their losses.”
The claim for bus passeneger compensation which Mr Stone made was settled out of court.
