Driver hits wall & house suffers minor injury
In a road traffic accident in Cleveland, a male pensioner was lucky to survive serious injury when the car he was driving went round a bend, left the road and hit a brick wall, then went into a house, smashing a huge hole into the living room. Only the rear of the car was sticking out, the rest of the car had entered the property.
The pensioner, 67, escaped with just bruising from the car accident. The fire service was required to cut him from the car, near Yarm on the A67. A visit to James Cook University Hospital by ambulance was needed to deal with the head injury which had been sustained by the pensioner.
Fortunately the house which the car crashed into was empty at the time and had a ‘To Let’ sign outside.
This bend, where the speed limit goes from 60 to 40mph, has been the scene of previous accidents.
