We have recently accepted such a claim, which involves a man and his girlfriend who work in a pub. He works as a head chef and she works as a waitress. It was late on a Saturday night when they were both free from working and able to go for a break together. They decided to go outside into the front grounds of the pub and sit on one of the wooden table and chairs next to the car park. As they were sitting at the table talking, a car came towards slowing down as if to park, it then accelerated. The car headed straight for them smashing into a table and chairs in front of them, which was thrown towards them.
The car continued towards them smashing into them, both of them were thrown under the car. The mans legs were close to the tyres of the car and had been forced into a c shape, his girlfriend was thrown into a bush with the car over her and her backside very close to the tyres.
After the accident the man could see the driver of the car, a woman, get out of the drivers side, she is the girlfriend of the owner of the car, who was in the passenger side and is the manager of the pub.
The injured man has stated that woman driver of the car only had a provisional license.
The police were informed of the accident.
