Farm worker injury claim

Filed under: Accident at Work Claim,Accident at Work Compensation — admin @ 1:28 pm

The agriculture industry is a dangerous place to work resulting in many accidents at work. In the year 2009/2010, the industry recorded a big increase in fatalities. In this period thirty eight workers were killed on farms, compared with twenty five the previous year. This is a rate of 8.2 fatal accidents per 100,000 workers, these figures make working in agriculture the most dangerous work you can do.

There has been a recently reported case where an agricultural worker has won his farm worker injury claim, after his leg was caught in a potato harvesting machine.

The worker was carrying out seasonal work for an agricultural contractor. He was required to crop potatoes at a large farm in Cumbria. He needed to drive a tractor next to the potato harvester when his trousers got caught in the machinery, which resulted in his leg being dragged into it. His ankle and lower leg were crushed.

The man has been left permanently disabled. In court it was ruled that the worker was partly responsible for the accident and as a result his compensation was reduced by 20% to £71k.

Construction site injury claim

Filed under: Accident at Work Claim,Accident at Work Compensation — admin @ 9:53 am

Working on a construction site is one of the most dangerous jobs you can do. As a result you are six times more likely to killed or injured. Construction sites are the cause of a large variety of different types of accidents.

Everyone working on a construction site should have received the proper health and safety training and also be fully trained in the job they are performing. All equipment used on site should be regularly checked and safe to use.

Common causes of accidents on construction site include falling debris, structural collapses as well as roof and scaffolding collapses.

Due to the nature of construction sites workers often have to work at height. The use of ladders should be done so safely, safety harnesses should be safe and scaffolding erected correctly.

Back injuries are a common as a result of working on a construction site as workers lift loads which are far too heavy for one person to lift or as a result of insufficient training or the correct lifting equipment not present to use.

Other types of work accidents in construction are as a result of electrocution, explosions, cranes and forklift trucks.

However you may have been injured as long as the accident was not your own fault, it may be possible to make a construction site injury claim with the help of the Accident Advice Bureau.

All accepted claim here at the Accident Advice Bureau will be worked on a no win no fee basis and 100% of your injury compensation will be awarded.

Injury compensation for an accident at work in the kitchen

Filed under: Accident at Work Claim,Accident at Work Compensation — admin @ 10:03 am

An accident at work in the kitchen happens regularly, whether the cause of the accident was a knife being left in the wrong place by workers, dishwashers leaking onto the floor without any warnings, or boiling pans being spilt onto an employee. There are many reasons for an accident in a works kitchen to happen, many can be avoided if the correct health and safety rules are followed by everyone in the kitchen.

A couple of examples where a kitchen accident at work has happened recently:

An employee was in the kitchen when he cut himself on a knife which was left lying in the wrong place by another worker. The knife had been hidden under a cloth which the worker was unaware of. The knife cut the employee causing a serious cut. The accident was reported to the employer and details logged in the accident book. Following a visit to hospital the client decided to make a claim for being injured by a knife in the work kitchen.

Another worker suffered an accident in a pub kitchen due to the dishwasher leaking on the floor. The employer knew it was faulty before the accident but had failed to get the dishwasher fixed. Following the accident which was reported to the employer and medical care was received by the doctor, the employee made a compensation claim for being injured in the pub kitchen.

If you have suffered an injury in a work kitchen due to the negligence of the employer or another member of staff, a claim for injury compensation may be possible on a no win no fee basis with us.

We have helped many people successfully claim work accident compensation for kitchen accidents. Our personal injury claims solicitors specialise in work claims and all successful clients have received 100% of the compensation awarded.
