Injured on an aeroplane claim

Filed under: Accident Claim — admin @ 9:17 am

If you have been injured whilst travelling on an aeroplane and you believe the accident was not your fault, then an injured on an aeroplane claim may be possible with the help of the Accident Advice Bureau.

Most of the more frequent accidents that occur, whilst passengers are travelling on an aeroplane, are preventable. Some of these include trip hazards left in the aisle causing someone to fall or air stewards/stewardesses spilling hot drinks on their passengers resulting in a burn.

Some aeroplane accidents are less preventable, for example if the aeroplane suddenly experiences engine problems or if there are extreme flying conditions.

There has been an event already this year, which has resulted in all airports in the UK to be closed resulting in no flights in or out of the region for safety reasons. This is as a result of volcanic eruptions taking place in Iceland.

The cloud of ash from the volcano, which has grounded all flights is moving southwards over the UK. The eruption ejected the plume, which consists of fine rock particles as high as 11km into the atmosphere. The ash cloud is now drifting as a result of high altitude winds. The altitude of the ash cloud is that which aircraft cruise at.

There have been previous events where aircraft have lost engines as a result of volcanic ash, resulting in loss of altitude. If ash particles are injected into an engine, they accumulate and clog the engine with molten glass.

So for this and other safety reasons all airports in the UK will be closed until the ash cloud have has moved away from our airspace.

However you may have been injured on an aeroplane, contact us here at the Accident Advice Bureau, all accepted claims are worked on a no win no fee basis and if the case is won you will receive 100% of any injury compensation awarded.

Two firemen killed in Southampton flats blaze

Filed under: Accident Claim — admin @ 6:17 pm

The cause of a fire which killed two firemen, james Shears, 35, and Alan Bannon, 38, is unknown at present, but the police and fire service are conducting enquiries. The firemen had both served for more than seven years and were members of the Red Watch at St Mary’s Firestation in Southampton.

It was in Shirley Towers Church Street Southampton, a fire started on the ninth floor which was home to a single mum and her two children on Tuesday evening at around 8pm. An hour after the fire started, the blaze was like an inferno. The family along with all the other residents of the flats were evacuated and cared for by the Salvation Army, there were no casualties to the flats residents.

There were 20 fire appliances called from around Hampshire to tackle the fire which was causing severe problems due to its location. The police had cordoned off the area around the fifteen story building. The area was crowded with police, ambulances and the fire service.

The block of flats has a front and rear door, and the evacuation of the residents went like clockwork. The residents were given accommodation by Southampton City Council.

The fire service was working extremely hard for many hours to extinguish the flames and to save the residents from the injury from fire.

Two other firemen were taken to hospital to have minor hand burn injuries dealt with.

The block of flats in Southampton had a fire several years ago, which happened on the top floor.

Injured in a Falling Ceiling Accident

Filed under: Accident Claim, Slip Trip Accident — admin @ 10:02 am

If you have been injured in a falling ceiling accident in a public place like a shop, supermarket, restaurant or in the workplace, a claim for compensation could be possible with our help.

Ceilings can collapse and fall for a number of reasons, it could be due to maintenance work, due to their age or just thay they are not fitted correctly.

A claim we have recently accepted involved a customer being injured in McDonalds when the ceiling collapsed and hit her on the arm. The customer had raised her arm to protect her young nephew who she had taken to the toilet. The ceiling sheet that fell was quite large. The sharp ceiling falling onto her caused several cuts to her arm. The accident was recorded in the accident book and the customer then saw her doctor. After around 5 weeks the scars were still very visible on her arm and are likely to be permanent.

The claim was accepted on a no win no fee basis and our client has been told that on winning she will receive every penny awarded. In the unlikely event of the claim being lost, it was explained to her that no fees are payable and all we ask for in return is full cooperation.
