A man who has had his life changed in such a way that he needs constant help with every day tasks, has been awarded £3.6 million in car accident compensation by a judge at Liverpool crown Court.
Andrew Chin, 39, a father of two from Trefor near Caernarfon, was left with brain damage after being involved in a traffic accident with a careless driver in 2008. He was in a stationary car in a lay-by when he was hit by the careless driver at around 70mph, causing him to hit his head with extreme force on the steering wheel.
Andrew was only given a 10% chance of surviving the horrific car accident, the terrific work of the medical staff around him overcame this. Andrews wife spent two weeks at his bedside after which she was advised by friends and family to go and take some much needed rest.
Andrew, now living in Birmingham, will not be able to return to work, lawyers have said and the car accident compensation awarded has taken this into account.
The money will be used to help him with the lifetime of care he is going to need.
The careless driver was convicted of driving without due care and attention following the accident. He was fined and had his licence endorsed.
