Bouncy castle accident injures children
Children have been injured in a bouncy castle accident recently when high winds caused the children to be thrown into the air, they were also thrown across the road in the accident.
The accident happened on Sunday afternoon in the White House Hotel in Whitby, North Yorkshire. One of the children, Koby Dakin,7, suffered severe injuries. There were three children playing on the bouncy castle at the time, which included Koby’s brother Kyle, 10 and Imogen Wright, 8, who is a friend of the boys.
The bouncy castle pegs were ripped out of the ground by the high winds.
The children were about to be taken off the bouncy castle as it was starting to look unsafe in the winds, but before they got off the castle it took off in the wind.
The bouncy castle hit a telegraph pole in the road. The children were on the ground in pain.
The police, fire and rescue service and an ambulance attended the scene. The children received medical attention at the roadside.
Imogen suffered concussion and Kyle injured his knee. They were both taken to Scarborough hospital. Koby was airlifted and taken to Middlesbrough’s James Cook Hospital. Koby has suffered two arm fractures, a broken leg, a broken rib , a head injury and a punctured lung.
Wind speeds of around 40mph caused the bouncy castle to leave the ground. A christening was being celebrated at the hotel at the time.
