Filed under: Housing Accociation Claims — admin @ 1:57 pm

If you have suffered an accident due to faulty or insufficient lighting  and have been injured as a result, it may be possible to pursue a faulty lighting accident claim with the help of the Accident Advice Bureau.

We have recently accepted such a case which happened in a property owned by Hyde Martlet Housing Association. The lights in the hallway of the property work on a sensor. The lights stop working and our client reported this to the housing association and was told the lights would take five working days to repair, after this time the lights has still not been repaired.

One evening at approx 10:30pm in January, the client was walking from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor. He was wearing trainers. The lights were still not working, resulting in the client slipping and falling down three stairs and injuring himself.

He called a friend who managed to get hold of the client’s wife to help him move from the stairs. As soon as he got home he reported the accident to the housing association, it was only then that shortly after the lights were fixed, sadly to late for our client.

The client saw his doctor who diagnosed a lower back injury and sprain to his hip area.

He asked for our help on making a faulty lighting injury claim. All such claims are worked on a no win no fee basis where on winning, maximum compensation is awarded.

Injured in a Housing Association property

Filed under: Housing Accociation Claims — admin @ 9:13 am

Suffering an accident and being injured in a rented property due to negligence of the landlord may lead to a successful injury compensation claim being made with us on a no win no fee basis.

Every year hundreds of people are injured in a housing association property in an accident which could have been avoided if the housing association had not left dangerous hazards in or around the property which they were informed about.

On many occasions the tenant has reported the dangerous hazard to the housing association, sometimes several times. Whether it be a slip, trip or fall hazard, a faulty boiler, dangerous ceiling, or problems with windows or doors in the property, the housing association should rectify the problem as soon as possible.

There has recently been a case where a lady was injured falling in her driveway as the tarmac had sunk badly in several places. The defect had been reported numerous times and the housing association had come out to look at the area, said it needed repairing but then left it. The lady then suffered a trip accident which caused severe facial injuries needing several stitches. The lady will be left with a permanent facial scar.

If you have been injured due to negligence of a housing association and would like to know if a claim for injury compensation is possible please contact us on 0845 10 88 333 or claim by clicking: Housing Association Accident Claim.

Housing association injury claim

Filed under: Housing Accociation Claims — admin @ 1:13 pm

If you live in a property which is owned by a housing association and you suffer an injury due to their negligence, it may be possible to pursue a housing association injury claim with the help of the Accident Advice Bureau.

We have recently accepted such a case where a woman was injured on the driveway of her property. It was happened in the early hours of the morning when the woman, who was wearing flip-flops, went into her garden to bring her dog in.

On the driveway, the tarmac has dropped in several areas and it was in the gap next to the drain that her flip flop got caught causing her to trip and fall heavily onto the metal garden gate. The woman was in severe pain and bleeding badly.

A neighbour saw what had happened and came out to help. An ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital where she was given 7 stitches to her face, she was told she would be left with a scar.

The woman, who has lived in the housing association house for some time, had reported the defects on her driveway several times to the housing association over the years prior to the accident and although they came out and took photos of the defective areas they never repaired them.

The woman asked for our help in making a no win no fee housing association accident claim where, as with all injury clams we handle, on winning maximum compensation is awarded.

All accepted claims will be dealt with as quickly as possible and in a hassle free manner.

Injured in living accomodation claim

Filed under: Housing Accociation Claims,Injury Claims — admin @ 4:24 pm

If you have an accident which results in an injury, whether it be in a rented house or a house paid for you by the state, making an injured in living accommodation claim may be possible with our help.

With recently accepted such a case which involved our client living in accommodation through South Coast Properties. He had lived there for approx one year. Since he first moved there, the carpet in the communal stairway has been very loose, making it dangerous. In this area the light has also never worked making it difficult to see the loose carpet when dark.

The man had complained continuously to the house manager, about the loose carpet and lack of lighting, but nothing was done to resolve these issues.

It was one night at approx 6pm, and the man had been to see the house manager in her room, on his way back to his room he slipped on the loose carpet in the dark and fell down the flight of 7-8 stairs. The slipping down stairs accident was witnessed by the house manager and other residents also heard and came to help.

The next day the man was in so much pain he was taken to hospital by ambulance. X-rays were taken and the man was diagnosed with a fractured right shoulder, which was put in plaster and later a sling.

After a few months the injury had still not healed so he had an operation to insert two screws and a metal plate.

Approximately one week after the slipping accident, the dangerous carpet and broken light were finally fixed, sadly to late for our client.

If you had suffered a similar slip accident and have been injured through no fault of your own, then an injured in living accommodation claim, may be possible.

All accepted claims are worked on a no win no fee basis and you will receive 100% of any injury compensation awarded.

Injury claim after being electrocuted

Filed under: Accident at Work Claim,Housing Accociation Claims — admin @ 5:13 pm

There are numerous ways that you can be electrocuted, whether it be an electric shock at work, your home or a public place as long as the electric shock accident was not your own fault and you were injured, then an injury claim may be possible.

We have recently accepted an injury claim for electrocution, which involved a man living in his housing association home. The client went to reach for a plastic microwave dish cover which was situated on top of his microwave. As he went to reach it, his right hand brushed the strip light underneath the kitchen unit.

The client was then thrown backwards across the kitchen floor. He screamed in pain as his finger was very sore. Our client’s girlfriend heard him and came to help. His right hand to his elbow was shaking and he called NHS Direct, they advised him that if his arm got worse or did not recover within a day or two, to visit his local hospital. 48 hours later clients hand was still shaking and in pain so he saw his doctor who referred him straight to hospital. Hospital gave him a heart trace which was normal, but diagnosed nerve and soft tissue damage to his right hand.

The faulty strip light which caused the electric shock and injured our client was 240 volts and the accident was reported to the housing association responsible the next day.

The housing association sent an engineer who looked at the faulty light and told client that both strip lights in the kitchen were fitted incorrectly as the male ends of the lights were totally exposed (live) making them very dangerous. The lights were removed by the housing association.

The strip lights were fitted by the housing association when the house was built in 2008. Client and his family are the first occupants of the house from new.

If you have suffered a similar type of electric shock accident, contact us here at the Accident Advice Bureau, we have years of experience in such matters, click: Injury claim after being electrocuted.
