Injured in living accomodation claim

Filed under: Housing Accociation Claims,Injury Claims — admin @ 4:24 pm

If you have an accident which results in an injury, whether it be in a rented house or a house paid for you by the state, making an injured in living accommodation claim may be possible with our help.

With recently accepted such a case which involved our client living in accommodation through South Coast Properties. He had lived there for approx one year. Since he first moved there, the carpet in the communal stairway has been very loose, making it dangerous. In this area the light has also never worked making it difficult to see the loose carpet when dark.

The man had complained continuously to the house manager, about the loose carpet and lack of lighting, but nothing was done to resolve these issues.

It was one night at approx 6pm, and the man had been to see the house manager in her room, on his way back to his room he slipped on the loose carpet in the dark and fell down the flight of 7-8 stairs. The slipping down stairs accident was witnessed by the house manager and other residents also heard and came to help.

The next day the man was in so much pain he was taken to hospital by ambulance. X-rays were taken and the man was diagnosed with a fractured right shoulder, which was put in plaster and later a sling.

After a few months the injury had still not healed so he had an operation to insert two screws and a metal plate.

Approximately one week after the slipping accident, the dangerous carpet and broken light were finally fixed, sadly to late for our client.

If you had suffered a similar slip accident and have been injured through no fault of your own, then an injured in living accommodation claim, may be possible.

All accepted claims are worked on a no win no fee basis and you will receive 100% of any injury compensation awarded.

School Pupils & Staff were potentailly at risk

Filed under: Injury Claims — admin @ 11:13 am

A kitchen porter has been arrested for allegations that some soup had been poisoned at Stowe public school in Buckinghamshire.

Police were informed last week of the poisoning at school incident which could put school pupils and staff at risk, and a 58 year old man was suspended immediately. The head teacher has said “I would like to reassure parents that no pupils or members of staff were affected in the incident”

There was a chemical smell in the soup which made staff suspicious. The kitchen porter was arrested at his home in Northamptonshire on suspicion of administering poison to the soup with intent of causing grievous bodily harm and endangering life.

The kitchen porter has been released on bail.

The kitchen staff at the school were carrying out checks on the food before serving it to the pupils, this was a ‘routine check’. As the food smelt like it had been tampered with they took action to prevent poisoning to the pupils and staff. The school has 750 pupils aged between 13 and 18. Parents were informed of the arrest by email, the school have said.

The prestigious school is where Sir Richard Branson was once a pupil.

The schools vigilance has potentially saved pupils and staff from suffering severe poisioning injuries from eating the soup.

Accident in a Pub, Club or Restaurant

Pubs, Clubs & Restaurants are where many people go to enjoy an evening or lunchtime out and do not expect to be injured in an accident.

The public should be safe at all times in these areas and the establishments have a duty of care to all who visit their premises.

Some of the causes of an accident in a Pub, Club or Restaurant are from slipping on a wet surface, or where food has been allowed to remain on the floor.

Any spillage should be cleaned up and if the floor remains wet and slippery, a sign warning people of the hazard should be put in place.

Pot holes in the grounds should be filled in and these are often seen in car parks.

If you have been unfortunate enough to be injured in a pub, club or restaurant through no fault of your own, then a claim for injury compensation could be possible on a No Win No Fee basis using one of out injury claims specialist solicitors.

Any accident in these premises should be reported to the management or staff and logged in the accident book.

You can make a claim for injuries by calling us on 0800 814 0014 or by claiming online by clicking: Injury Claim.
