Accident on an unmarked speed bump injury claim

Filed under: Injury Compensation, Slip Trip Accident — admin @ 7:48 am

Here at the Accident Advice Bureau, we have recently accepted a case which involved a lady who suffered an accident on a speed bump within the car park of a pub.

The lady had been to a party at the pub when she left the around 10.30pm to made her way home. She had only drunk a very small amount and was wearing flat shoes. As she left the pubs exit and was walking across the car park she tripped on an unmarked speed bump, which she did not see as it was very dark. The trip accident caused her to fall heavily on her face and front.

A couple who were walking by helped her up, feeling very embarrassed, she continued to make her way home.

The next day she was in severe pain and so she visited her doctor. She was diagnosed with three cracked ribs and a severely bruised face.

The ladies partner went to tell the landlord of the accident the next day who just laughed at him, so a few days later the lady went into the pub herself. The manager said there was no accident book available and that he is intending to paint the speed bump as it has clearly worn away across the section where the trip accident happened.

The worn away paint makes the speed bump very difficult to see at night.

The lady contacted us here at the Accident Advice Bureau and asked for are help in making an accident on an unmarked speed bump injury claim.

Falling stock or equipment causing an injury in a shop

Filed under: Injury Compensation — admin @ 7:27 am

Superstores and smaller shops have a responsibility to ensure items of stock and products are stacked correctly, so they do not cause a hazard to customers, staff, delivery drivers or any visiting member of the public to the premises.

It is very easy for stock items or baskets and trolleys to fall if incorrectly stacked, potentially causing an injury to someone.

On visiting a B & Q store as a customer a lady was injured when the trolleys were incorrectly stacked, with the front trolley handle propping up the rest of the trolleys behind them. This was not noticed at the time when the front trolley was taken in order to do the shopping. As a result, the trolleys fell onto the lady causing injuries.

The trolley accident was reported to B&Q and logged in an accident book. The lady needed medical attention and the injuries are ongoing several weeks after the accident.

The lady wished to make a claim for injury compensation, which is now being handled on a no win no fee basis by a personal injury specialist solicitor.

If you have been injured due to incorrect stacking of stock in a shop, a claim may be possible with our help.

Injured by a faulty trolley accident claim

Filed under: DIY Store Claims, Injury Compensation — admin @ 6:13 pm

All of us, at times, use trolleys. Trolleys are used at a number of places, the most common of which are DIY stores such as B & Q, Wickes and Homebase and supermarkets including Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys and Morrisons. Whenever you use a trolley it should be safe. If you have suffered an injury whilst using a faulty trolley, it may be possible to make an injured by a faulty trolley accident claim, with the help of the Accident Advice Bureau.

Here at the Accident Advice Bureau we have successfully dealt with numerous faulty trolley accident claims. We recently accepted such a claim which involved a man who was shopping with his friend shopping in B&Q.

The man was putting bags of bark in the trolley which was supplied by the store.  He wheeled the trolley to the trade point area, as he turned, the steel trolley frame broke and locked onto the trolley wheel, suddenly jamming it. This resulted in the trolley toppling.

As the shopper had hold of the trolley, when it toppled over, it caused pain to the man’s shoulder and groin area. He informed a member of staff of the accident and that he was injured. They showed little interest.

The man saw his doctor who diagnosed a tendon injury to his shoulder as well as a groin injury.

He later contacted the B & Q store manager to report the accident and ask him to make sure it was reported into the accident book.

We have been asked to help the man make an injury compensation for the accident he suffered. All injury compensation claims we accept are work on a No Win No Fee basis, where 100% compensation is awarded on the successsful conclusion of the case.

So call our friendly claims advisors today, who will discuss your case circumstances with you and advise you of the next step.
