A Basingstoke man suffered severe injuries when the car he was driving, a Lexus 250, left the road and hit a tree when he was travelling along the Farleigh Road from Cliddesden towards the A339 in Basingstoke. The accident happened just after 7pm on Saturday.
The car hit the tree approximately one hundred yards from the junction police have said.
The driver was taken to North Hampshire Hospital. He was later transferred, with serious to life threatening injuries, to Southampton General Hospital.
Police would like to speak to anyone with any information on the car accident.

Having been hit by a tram in an accident last week, a seven-year-old boy suffered severe leg injuries and had to be taken to hospital.
The rush hour tram accident happened at the Fieldway tram stop in Lodge Lane in Addington, Croyden. Paramedics, the Surrey air ambulance and police were called to the tram accident scene. It was the road ambulance which took the boy to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, South London.
The tram accident is being treated as non suspicious by the police. They were informed of the accident at 8.04am Monday November 15.
