Motorcyclist injured as car does a u-turn in the road

Filed under: Motorbike Compensation Claims — admin @ 8:43 am

A motorcyclist was injured when a car did a u-turn in the road, leaving the rider no option but to hit the car. The car was stationary in a bus layby when the motorbike had come from a roundabout and was heading along the road in Havant, Hampshire. The motorbike was travelling at around 25 mph with the light on as it was around 6pm.

The car suddenly pulled out in front of the motorbike and went to do a u-turn around an island in the road. The motorcyclist hit the front side of the car near the wheel arch causing him to fly over the top of the bonnet. He landed on the road very heavily causing pain to his legs, coccyx and lower back.

The police and ambulance service attended. The motorcyclist was checked over at the scene and was seen to be in pain but a hospital visit wasn’t seen as necessary. The following day the motorcyclist woke up in pain and had to attend hospital who diagnosed leg injuries and a lower back injury.

Initially the car driver said it was the motorcyclist fault, this was later changed and the car drivers insurance company admitted full liability for the accident.

The motorcyclist wished to make a claim for injury compensation for the non fault motorbike accident. We were contacted and asked to make the motorbike injury claim on a no win no fee basis.

As with all motorbike accident claims we handle, upon winning, maximum compensation for the injury is paid to the injured motorcyclist.

Injury compensation for moped rider injured in a traffic accident

Filed under: Motorbike Compensation Claims — admin @ 8:22 am

A successful injury compensation claim for a moped accident has been made by a man who suffered severe injuries after being knocked from his moped by a car. The traffic accident happened in Well Hall Road in Eltham in the summer of 2005.

The injured moped rider Mr keith Barker-Platt was told that the car drivers insurance company is to pay the injury compensation following his accident, which caused severe head injuries. The award was made in the High Court in London last week.

The injuries were so severe that they kept Mr Barker-Platt in hospital for six months. As a result of the accident and injuries, he is unable to leave the house on his own and relies heavily on his wife for day to day care.

As a father of three Mr Barker-Platt is now unable to work and provide financial support for his family. The injury compensation claim was made so his family can have the financial stability they require.

The injury compensation was settled for £1.4 million, this figure is for injuries and takes into account the future loss of earnings along with medical support and care.

The court also recognised the help and support of the children and wife and has awarded them a small compensation payout.

Pillion Passenger Claim for Motorbike Accident

Filed under: Motorbike Compensation Claims — admin @ 8:25 am

A pillion passenger claim for a motorbike accident can be made with our help by passengers who are injured as a result of the riders or another road users negligence . Every year pillion passengers are injured through no fault of their own, resulting in many injury compensation claims being made.

A pillion passenger was killed instantly on the A500 after riding on the motorbike where the rider was well over the drink drive limit. The rider is said to have had previous convictions for drink driving. The pillion passenger fell from the motorbike and was then run over twice once by a lorry and then a car. The rider was in hospital for six weeks following the accident.

This accident highlights the dangers of motorbikes, which are made worse when they are being ridden by someone who has had alcohol. It makes sense that if you know the rider has been drinking alcohol, it it best to stay well clear of the bike and not to be a pillion passenger.

As a rider of a motorbike there is the responsibility of not only ensuring you and the bike are in a safe roadworthy condition, but also that pillion passengers are safe when in your control.

With so many hazards on the roads from oil, grease, loose road surfaces, potholes and other road users to look out for, the responsibility of the motorbike rider is huge, especially in order to prevent an accident and injury to the pillion passenger.

Pillion passenger accident claims we have handled have all been on a no win no feee basis and maximum compensation is paid out on winning.

Motorcycle Passenger Claims

Filed under: Motorbike Compensation Claims,Passenger Claims — admin @ 10:02 am

A motorcycle passenger claim for compensation could be made with us, if the injuries to the passenger are caused by the rider of the motorcycle or by a third party. The third party may be another road user or the local authority who are liable for maintaining the roads, and have failed to do so.

Motorcycle passenger claims are straight forward as it is unlikely to be the passenger’s fault for causing the accident.

Motorcycles are involved in many road accidents every year and they are often the fault of another vehicle, where the driver has failed to see the motorcycle. Many motorcyclists and passengers help other drivers to see them by wearing fluorescent jackets. This would also help if following an accident, the rider and passenger are in the road needing assistance.

Sometimes passengers and riders fall from the motorcycle where the other driver has cut across them and they have to swerve to avoid a collision. There are numerous reasons for motorcycle accidents and whatever the cause your accident, if you were not at fault, then claim for compensation could be possible.

The claims we handle will be worked on by a specialist personal injury solicitor who has years of experience in winning such claims. They will not cost anything to make and maximum compensation will be awarded on winning. The claim must be made within three years of the accident date.

To make a motorcycle passenger claim, please call us on 0800 814 0014 or claim by clicking: Passenger Claim for Motorcycle Accident.
