Motorcyclist injured as car does a u-turn in the road
A motorcyclist was injured when a car did a u-turn in the road, leaving the rider no option but to hit the car. The car was stationary in a bus layby when the motorbike had come from a roundabout and was heading along the road in Havant, Hampshire. The motorbike was travelling at around 25 mph with the light on as it was around 6pm.
The car suddenly pulled out in front of the motorbike and went to do a u-turn around an island in the road. The motorcyclist hit the front side of the car near the wheel arch causing him to fly over the top of the bonnet. He landed on the road very heavily causing pain to his legs, coccyx and lower back.
The police and ambulance service attended. The motorcyclist was checked over at the scene and was seen to be in pain but a hospital visit wasn’t seen as necessary. The following day the motorcyclist woke up in pain and had to attend hospital who diagnosed leg injuries and a lower back injury.
Initially the car driver said it was the motorcyclist fault, this was later changed and the car drivers insurance company admitted full liability for the accident.
The motorcyclist wished to make a claim for injury compensation for the non fault motorbike accident. We were contacted and asked to make the motorbike injury claim on a no win no fee basis.
