Filed under: DIY Store Claims — admin @ 9:39 am

There are thousands of diy stores all over the country. The most popular are B&Q, Homebase, Focus DIY and Wickes.

If you have been injured in a diy store and the accident was not your own fault, then it may be possible to make an injured in a diy store claim for injury compensation.

We recently accepted an injury claim for an accident which took place at B&Q. The man was shopping with his wife and was pushing a B&Q trolley, which he used for shopping and as a walking aid at the time. He would normally use a stick as he has a problem with his left leg.

A B&Q worker was pushing a large trolley, which contained wood and racking, through the aisle. The wood on the trolley was sticking out and hit the client on his right leg.

The force of hitting the customer made the wood on the trolley push back approx 9-10 inches. The wood had other stock on top of it and it took some force to move it, of which the man took the full impact.

The man was knocked to the ground and fell landing heavily twisting his right knee. The wood also caused bruising and scratching to client’s right leg. Staff were called and the accident was recorded into the B&Q accident book.

The B&Q worker apologised to the store customer and told him that he did not see him. The man went to hospital who diagnosed a twisted right knee and told him to rest. The B&Q customer injuries lasted for some time and asked for our help in seeking accident compensation.
