A factory accident compensation claim was made by a worker who suffered injuries to her back when she got up to move some items from her work station and twisted awkwardly as she fell on a trolley which had been placed too close to her table by another worker. There was supposed to be an area free from obstructions around the work station, this would enable the workers to stand and move freely.

All staff at the factory in Andover Hampshire had been made aware of this ruling but one failed to adhere to it. The accident was witnessed by a factory employee, reported to the supervisor and put in the accident book. The factory worker felt pains to her back and saw her doctor who diagnosed soft tissue injuries to the lower back region.

This fall at work injury meant the worker could not go back to her job for a number of months. This caused her financial hardship and she felt a claim for compensation would help in the circumstances.
