A holiday accident claim for compensation has been made by a pensioner who was hurt in an accident in a hotel room when on holiday with friends.

The man was on holiday in Spain when the accident happened. The visit was organised by a travel agent in the UK.

When he was in his bed at around midnight, a large heavy metal framed picture, which was hanging on the wall above the bed fell and hit him.

This picture frame crashed down hitting a small ledge on the way before hitting the man in the shoulder and causing a cut as well as soft tissue muscle damage. A doctor was called to the room and all the details were recorded by the holiday company representative.

The man needed to see his own doctor on return from the holiday as he was in so much pain. Weeks after the accident he is still unable to move is arm properly due to the muscle damage.

The man has said that if he had been slightly over in the bed, the falling picture would have hit his head causing severe injuries or worse.
