Injured in living accomodation claim

Filed under: Housing Accociation Claims, Injury Claims — admin @ 4:24 pm

If you have an accident which results in an injury, whether it be in a rented house or a house paid for you by the state, making an injured in living accommodation claim may be possible with our help.

With recently accepted such a case which involved our client living in accommodation through South Coast Properties. He had lived there for approx one year. Since he first moved there, the carpet in the communal stairway has been very loose, making it dangerous. In this area the light has also never worked making it difficult to see the loose carpet when dark.

The man had complained continuously to the house manager, about the loose carpet and lack of lighting, but nothing was done to resolve these issues.

It was one night at approx 6pm, and the man had been to see the house manager in her room, on his way back to his room he slipped on the loose carpet in the dark and fell down the flight of 7-8 stairs. The slipping down stairs accident was witnessed by the house manager and other residents also heard and came to help.

The next day the man was in so much pain he was taken to hospital by ambulance. X-rays were taken and the man was diagnosed with a fractured right shoulder, which was put in plaster and later a sling.

After a few months the injury had still not healed so he had an operation to insert two screws and a metal plate.

Approximately one week after the slipping accident, the dangerous carpet and broken light were finally fixed, sadly to late for our client.

If you had suffered a similar slip accident and have been injured through no fault of your own, then an injured in living accommodation claim, may be possible.

All accepted claims are worked on a no win no fee basis and you will receive 100% of any injury compensation awarded.
