Claim for a Fall at Work

Filed under: Accident Claim, Accident at Work, Injury Compensation — admin @ 8:24 am

An accident at work could be due to a fall from a height, which causes an injury. Employees should always ensure that the task they are about to carry out can be done safely without causing an accident or injury to themselves or others.

Employers have a responsibility to ensure the safety of the workers at all times. Sometimes it is the vigilance of the workers who will discover a fault in the work place which could result in an accident. Anything which looks unsafe should be reported to the employer so they can take action to help prevent an accident at work.

It is important that if the employer provides safety equipment, it is used at all times by employees. Should the equipment which is supplied be faulty, it must be reported to management as soon as possible and rectified or changed.

Some accidents at work happen due to the incorrect equipment being used. An example is when an employee needed to get some stock from a high shelf in the stock room and could not find the steps to reach it. The employee thought it would be quicker to stand on a box which had stock in it. As the worker was stretching, the box gave way which caused him to fall heavily to the ground. The worker suffered a broken arm through the fall. The worker then contacted us to see if an accident claim for injury compensation could be made. This is not the type of accident we could accept as it was the workers own fault as he chose to take short cuts and not use the correct equipment which was supplied for the job.

If you have suffered a non fault workplace accident from a fall, slip or trip, please contact us if you would like to find out about making a claim for injury compensation on a no win no fee basis.
