Injury compensation for moped rider injured in a traffic accident
A successful injury compensation claim for a moped accident has been made by a man who suffered severe injuries after being knocked from his moped by a car. The traffic accident happened in Well Hall Road in Eltham in the summer of 2005.
The injured moped rider Mr keith Barker-Platt was told that the car drivers insurance company is to pay the injury compensation following his accident, which caused severe head injuries. The award was made in the High Court in London last week.
The injuries were so severe that they kept Mr Barker-Platt in hospital for six months. As a result of the accident and injuries, he is unable to leave the house on his own and relies heavily on his wife for day to day care.
As a father of three Mr Barker-Platt is now unable to work and provide financial support for his family. The injury compensation claim was made so his family can have the financial stability they require.
The injury compensation was settled for £1.4 million, this figure is for injuries and takes into account the future loss of earnings along with medical support and care.
The court also recognised the help and support of the children and wife and has awarded them a small compensation payout.
