Motorbike accident kills rider

In a tragic motorbike accident former solider Mark Taylor, 37 from Leeds, was killed after his bike left the road. He was a coming back from the Isle of Man where he had been to see the famous TT races.

His wife Laura said “He loved the TT and the Isle of Man. We had been over for the races and were coming back.”

Laura had put her motorbike in the back of a van and was due to see her husband an hour later, as he wanted to go along the roads on his bike.

On returning home, Laura received a visit from the police and she knew he had died.

Mr Taylor was a former soldier with the King’s Regiment. He was taken to the Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield after the motorbike accident but died soon after.

Police have said that no other vehicles were involved in the motorcycle road accident. It happened on a junction of the A642 Wakefield road and Coach Road. At the time of the motorbike accident Mr Taylor was travelling towards Woodlesford.

The couple got married 16 years ago when Mr Taylor was 21 and his bride Laura was18. They had a daughter Sami,14.
