Passengers in Coach Accident on Ice

Filed under: Coach Passenger Claims, Road Traffic Accidents — admin @ 5:43 pm

Coach passengers are usually very safe in the hands of their coach driver and will enjoy their journey. During the winter when ice and snow are on the roads, it can make it very difficult for coach drivers especially if ‘black ice’ is on the roads which is not seen, it is often only when the coach slides and loses control that its presence is known.

Recently in a horrific accident, over forty people have been injured with two fatalities on an organised coach trip on its return from a christmas attraction near Penzance in Cornwall. The coach accident was likely to have been caused by severe weather conditions with ice on the road. The coach is said to have come off the road before overturning. Devon and Cornwall Police were involved assisting, one police car also slid on the ice colliding into the coach. Many of the the coach passengers were taken to Truro hospital by air ambulance.

With all the ice making the roads so dangerous, extreme care must be taken by all road users and pedestrians in order to avoid accidents and injuries. Local authorities organise the gritting of roads but not all roads are covered. Any accident on the roads involving coach passengers could result in a coach passenger accident claim being made. Through us coach passenger accident claims are handled on a No Win No Fee basis and 100% of the injury compensation is paid out on winning.

*100% compensation does not apply to untraced drivers or Criminal Injury (assault). In such accident claims a percentage of the compensation may be deducted by the solicitor.
