Accident claim for a spectator at sporting event
Spectators at sporting events should be safe when using the facilities supplied by the venue and the premises should be in line with all health and safety standards.
Accidents at sporting events may be as a result of slipping or tripping in the clubhouse or from faulty seats supplied for the spectators to use. Others could be from defects in the car park or in the ground which should have been repaired. In addition lighting should be sufficient in all areas.
A claim from a spectator accident was made by a lady who was unexpectedly injured in the stand when she went to watch a football match. On entering the spectator stand the lady kept low to avoid hitting her head. Having watched the football match she then stood up to leave and forgot the roof was so low, she hit her head, this accident caused a severe cut to the top of her head which required stitches at hospital.
The accident was reported to the football club and recorded in an accident book.
The spectator accident claim was accepted as it was felt the spectator stand was dangerously low. The claim was handled on a no win no fee basis by an injury solicitor provided by the Accident Advice Bureau. The lady was advised that on winning 100% of the compensation will be paid out. No costs are payable should the claim be lost.
