A Trip Accident on a Broken Kerb Stone
A lady in Portsmouth contacted us after suffering an accident on a broken kerb stone. She was with a friend leaving a block of flats, when she crossed the road and didn’t see the kerb was broken. As she stepped onto the kerb she twisted and fell over landing very heavily on her arm. The lady went to hospital where xrays were taken and she was diagnosed with a severely broken arm.
Photographs were taken of the broken kerb and the defect was reported to the local authority who came out and made repairs. We were asked if a claim was possible for the injuries she had suffered.
We accepted the trip accident compensation claim on a no win no fee basis. The claim lasted nearly two years as liability had to be proved, but the time scale was also because the broken arm suffered complications and once liability had been admitted, our injury solicitor did not want to settle the claim too quickly. It is important that the full extent of the injury was known. In order to do this, the the lady attended a medical examination. The lady was awarded, and received, the full amount of £10,000 in compensation for her broken arm, she has thanked us at the Accident Advice Bureau for the way we handled the claim.
We can be contacted on 0845 10 88 333 or by completing a claim form by clicking: Trip Accident Claim.
