If you suffered an accident involving moving or lifting a heavy weight, that was not your fault, an accident claim for injuries may be possible.

Here at the Accident Advice Bureau we recently accepted such a claim. The client was employed as a civil engineer and was working with a co worker, there were only two of them on site at the time of the work accident.

They had to get a ‘nut cracker’ out of the van to do their job working on underground pipes. The nut cracker weighed approx 90 kgs and very heavy. As they were getting the nutcracker out of the van the co worker slipped on the ground and dropped it. This suddenly gave our client all of the weight causing him to slip and fall out of the works van. He landed awkwardly twisting his right knee.

The employee was wearing his work supplied safety boots at the time and the accident which was recorded in the accident book.

Our client visited his doctor who diagnosed a knee injury and was referred to hospital who said he had suffered a torn cartilage in the knee.

If you have suffered a similar accident involving lifting or moving heavy weights a heavy weight accident at work claim may be possible with our help. All work claims are worked on a no win no fee basis and you will receive 100% of any injury compensation awarded.

An accident at home due to faulty electrics resulting in an electric shock, was the cause for an injury compensation claim being made by a lady who suffered injuries. The injured lady lives with her husband in their housing association house in Southampton.

The housing association house is fitted with an electric key meter. The meter had been reported to the housing association as being faulty and considered unsafe by the couple. The meter was said to be making odd noises and therefore the couple did not want to touch it to charge it up. The housing association came out and looked at the meter and said it was safe but the couple said they hadn’t rectified the fault. Shortly after, the meter gave the lady a bolt as she was putting the key in. This gave the lady sudden pains up her arm and the force injured her back.

The lady was already suffering from other medical conditions which were made severely worse following the electric shock. She went to hospital where her injuries were diagnosed. The pains from the electric shock injury lasted a couple of months.

The lady used our free service to fight her electric shock compensation claim on a no win no fee basis.

An accident at a fitness club could happen due to a number of reasons, however, we find the main reasons we are contacted are due to slips, trips and falls in the gym or fitness club.

When you visit a fitness club, you go expecting to enjoy a workout or use the other facilities without the risk of being injured due to the fitness clubs negligence.

A Fitness Club accident happened when a female was enjoying workout in the gym and she noticed mats were placed so closely to the apparatus that they caused a tripping hazard to people in the gym. She asked a member of staff to move the mats, which they did and the lady carried on with her exercises. She went to use another piece of apparatus and tripped on the mats as they had been moved to another position equally as dangerous. She did not see the mats and the fall caused severe injuries to her arm and shoulder.

The accident was recorded in the fitness clubs accident book and on a visit to hospital she was told an operation is necessary. As the injury was severe and awkward to mend, a further operation was necessary. This was then followed by months of physiotherapy.

A successful accident in a fitness club claim for injury compensation was made on a no win no fee basis, with maximum compensation being paid to the lady.

A pedestrian hit by a lorry when walking on the pavement made an injury compensation claim for the injuries suffered. The female pedestrian was walking on the pavement with a friend when a lorry wing mirror hit her in the back of the head making her fall to the ground. The lorry drove too closely to the pavement putting pedestrians in danger.

The pedestrian accident was witnessed by other pedestrians and the driver of the lorry stopped having realised what he had done. Details were taken of the lorry driver. The pedestrian went to hospital and was diagnosed with whiplash injuries to her neck and shoulders and also suffered a back injury. The injuries had a huge impact on her life and she felt a pedestrian claim for compensation would help her financially.

All pedestrians should feel safe when walking on the pavement, if an accident happens involving being hit by a car, van, lorry or other road vehicle which is out of your control you can claim the injury compensation you are entitled to with us. The pedestrian claim was handled by us on a no win no fee basis, upon winning the claim 100% of the compensation was paid to the claimant.

A slip in Tesco on water alongside a leaking freezer has lead to an injury compensation claim being made. The Tesco accident happened when a customer had gone shopping for a curry when he slipped on the puddle of water which had been scuffed along the floor by numerous customers walking in it. There were no wet floor warning signs in place and the slip accident on water was witnessed by friends.

The accident and injury was reported to the store, and an accident report form was filled in. The water was then cleared up by staff. The customer was told by a Tesco manager that they are experiencing leaks from some of the freezers.

The slip on water accident in Tescos caused the customer to fall heavily on his back and caused injuries to his back and his coccyx. This type of injury can make simple daily routines like standing, sitting and walking very painful.

All supermarkets have a responsibility to ensure the safety of customers and staff on their premises.

We handle claims of this nature on a no win no fee basis and on winning 100% of the awarded compensation is paid to the successful claimant.

We have recently accepted an accident at work claim for injury compensation which was made by a domestic working at a hospital in Portsmouth.

Our client, who was employed by Carillion as a domestic cleaner, was wheeling a safety ladder through the corridor. The ladder had defective worn rubbers on the base and the strip between doors on the floor in the corridor was faulty sticking up and loose.

The faulty rubber on the base of the ladder caught the faulty strip on the floor causing her to fall onto the ladder. The employee hit her face with extreme force which caused a broken back tooth. The accident was recorded into the accident book.

The employee later visited her dentist who tried to remove the broken tooth. The cracked tooth resulted in nerve damage, the employee required 9 injections and her face ballooned and her mouth bruised.

The dentist was unable to do more and referred the client to hospital. Our client, to this day, can still feel bits of tooth deep in the socket of her tooth.

Following the hospital accident at work the safety ladders were condemned and the floor stuck down with tape. All other ladders were checked by maintenance.

If you have suffered an accident at work as a domestic or cleaner, that was not fault then a claim for injury compensation may be possible with our help. All claims are worked on a no win no fee basis and you will receive 100% of any injury compensation awarded.

An employee was injured as he was assisting the delivery of stock to a shop in Portsmouth. The delivery was made to the front of the Poundland shop instead of the rear, which the employee said would have been safer as the ground is flat and was the route which is usually used.

As the cage of stock was being wheeled over the paving slabs in the town centre, it had to go down a small slope. The wheels on the cage were small and the cage which was heavily loaded toppled and fell hitting the employee on the head causing a large cut.

The employee’s accident was reported to management and put in the works accident book. The accident was witnessed by the delivery driver. The employee required medical attention to the cut, which he received at hospital.

The employee asked us about making an injury compensation claim for the cuts and scar due the work place accident.

We accepted the Poundland accident at work claim for injuries on a no win no fee basis. The claim was handled by one of our work accident specialist solicitors. The claim was successful and the employee received maximum injury compensation for his pain and suffering.

In County Durham there has recently been a horrific head on road traffic accident, where a bus and coach collided killing the bus driver and injuring four passengers. The accident happened on a small road which has a 30mph speed limit. The coach driver who suffered leg, head and chest injuries was airlifted to hospital in Newcastle. The passengers were described as walking wounded and were taken to North Durham hospital, except one who had a fractured hip and was taken to Middlesbrough by air ambulance.

It was said that the bus which operates a local service had passengers onboard, the coach was empty with the exception of the driver.

A workman was in the area and heard the bus and coach crash, went to see what he could do to help the injured drivers and passengers. The workmans clothes were covered in blood as he helped and waited for the emergency services to attend the scene.

It is not yet known if any traffic accident injury compensation claims are going to be made following the accident in the village.

With huge waves hitting a cruise liner in the Mediterranean, several people were injured, two fataly as many passengers were thrown with force in the ship. The freak waves smashed the liners windows and sea water poured in causing debris and havoc particularly in the lounge. Furniture was being knocked over by the force of the water.

It was said that the incident happened very quickly, stunning the passengers who have paid to enjoy a holiday on the seas. Passengers were screaming as the horrors of the incident unfolded.

There are around 1300 tourists on the ship, and the majority just want to leave the ship and head home, when the liner stops at Barcelona for emergency repairs.

A broken leg injury is among the many injuries suffered by passengers, many of the passengers are being treated in hospital in Spain.

The weather and the sea conditions are unpredictable, however, it is highly unusual to have ship passenger accidents or incidents of this nature, with virtually every cruise being enjoyed by passengers who return year after year.
