Yes and they have up to the age of 21 to make a claim. If they are under the age of 18, you will have to act on their behalf.

If your claim is successful, your solicitor will charge their costs to the third parties insurer and you will receive 100% of the compensation awarded to you. If your claim is unsuccessful, you will not be charged anything providing you have not mislead or have failed to co-operate with your solicitor. The Accident Advice Bureau will put you in touch with a solicitor on our panel who will act on your behalf under this agreement.

How much compensation will I receive? top ^

I was injured at work, by claiming against my employer, can they dismiss me? top ^

It is not legally justifiable for your employer to dismiss you for making an accident claim. It could be classed as unfair dismissal, this could result in you opting to take legal action. Also it's important to remember that your employer is legally required to take out insurance cover against employees accidents. It would be your employer's insurance company who will pay your compensation and not your employer.

Can I still claim if my accident happened abroad? top ^

You can, although different rules often apply.

Will you put me in touch with a local solicitor? top ^

We will usually use a solicitor near to where you live. However, we will always appoint a solicitor which we believe will deliver an excellent service. As you do not need to visit the solicitors office at any time, it does not make any difference.

Will I have to fill out all the paperwork? top ^

No. We can visit you at your home or a place convenient to you to save you any problems.

Will I have to go to court? top ^

Very few cases have the need for court attendance.

What have I got to lose? top ^

Absolutely nothing! Remember if you win you receive 100% of the compensation awarded to you. If you lose, you pay nothing!

Please note: Criminal Injury claims (assault) and uninsured driver claims are less than 100% compensation, your solicitor will advise you.
