Can I claim for my type of accident?

Can my children claim?

Yes and they have up to the age of 21 to make a claim. If they are under the age of 18, you will have to act on their behalf.

I’ve heard of No Win No Fee, what does it mean?

If your claim is unsuccessful, you will not be charged anything, providing you have not mislead or have failed to co-operate with your solicitor. The Accident Advice Bureau will put you in touch with a solicitor, who will act on your behalf under this agreement.

How much compensation will I receive?

All cases are different and depend on the extent of your injuries and how long it takes for you to recover. We will send you for an independent medical assessment to determine the full extent of your injuries and suffering. This report is used to make sure you are guaranteed to receive maximum compensation. If you have suffered loss of earnings/expenses these would also be recovered.

I was injured at work, by claiming against my employer, can they dismiss me?

It is not legally justifiable for your employer to dismiss you for making an accident claim. It could be classed as unfair dismissal, this could result in you opting to take legal action. Also it’s important to remember that your employer is legally required to take out insurance cover against employees accidents. It would be your employer’s insurance company who will pay your compensation and not your employer directly.

Can I still claim if my accident happened abroad?

You can, although different rules often apply.

Will you put me in touch with a local solicitor?

We will usually use a solicitor near to where you live. However, we will always appoint a solicitor which we believe will deliver an excellent service. As you do not need to visit the solicitors office at any time, it does not make any difference where they are bassed.

Will I have to go to court?

Very few cases have the need for court attendance.

What have I got to lose?
